Thomas is an experienced European and German Patent Attorney with a focus on patent and trademark prosecution, invalidity procedures, and litigation, in particular in the fields of electrical engineering, software, physics, electronics, telecommunications, optics, and medical devices. His further activities cover the fields of license contracts, domain arbitration, and European border control procedures. He is resident in the Los Gatos Office of Radlo IP Law Group.

Thomas has successfully represented and currently represents medium-sized and large clients before various patent and trademark offices in Europe. He is particularly engaged in opposition and invalidity procedures before the European Patent Office, the German Federal Patent Court, and the German Supreme Court. He is dedicated to quality and attention to detail to provide his clients with the best possible advice at reasonable cost.

Thomas is admitted to practice before the European Patent Office, The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Community Trademarks and Designs), and the German Patent and Trademark Office. He is a registered U.S. Patent Agent (Registration No.70,284).

Prior to his engagement with Radlo IP Law Group, Thomas was active in Europe in the field of Intellectual Property starting in 2003, and was previously employed as a photonics engineer by Tsunami Optics, Inc., Mountain View, California.

Thomas holds a law degree (Law for Patent Attorneys) from Fernuniversitaet Hagen, Germany, and a degree in electrical engineering (Dipl.-Ing., comparable to a U.S. Master’s Degree) from Technical University of Dortmund University, Germany.

Thomas is a member of AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property) and FICPI (International Federation of Intellectual Property Attorneys).

Thomas is not admitted to the California Bar.
